Use Case: Simulation as a Revenue Driver
Simulation-based engineering makes it possible to predict a product’s behavior without having to build new prototypes every time. Automotive supplier HENN, which manufactures connection systems for intercooler and coolant systems, also took advantage of this benefit. The specific task was to optimize a silencer located between the turbocharger and the exhaust. CADFEM used Ansys software for structural analysis, thereby paving the way for virtual prototyping at HENN. This made it possible to drastically reduce the number of prototypes, shorten the development cycle, improve product quality, and at the same time significantly lower the costs of research, development, and production.
Use Case: Simulation as a Competitive Advantage
Insight SIP specializes in the development and manufacture of miniaturized high-frequency modules for wireless communication technologies. Its “System in Package” technology enables the company to offer the smallest and most comprehensive chips on the market. As soon as Insight SIP’s developers had created the initial module design, the substrate was analyzed using Ansys to refine the matching and rejection performance even before the first production run. At the same time, the antenna system was investigated and developed through simulations. This not only saved resources, money, and effort for the RF developer — it also allowed the RF SIP chip to reach market readiness significantly sooner.
